I have Verizon DLS, and for a while I continued to use Earthlink, with MSOE6. At that time OE6 worked fine with Verizon, but once I uninstalled Earthlink, I can no longer use OE6 for my mail access. When I click Send/Receive I immediately get the message:
>>
Task 'incoming.verizon.net - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' <<I have reinstalled Windows XPPro,
I followed an MSFAX about a registry change. (Don't now remember exactly, but it involved changing a (1) to (0) and reinstall OE6.
I then installed Outlook2000 to see if it would clean it up, but it doesn't.I suspect some file that was deleted by the earthlink uninstall, but don't have a clue. Verizon has a FAQ re. this problem, but it simply goes through the setup process, which I have done and checked a dozen times.
Any Ideas? Thanks

What do you mean that you were still using Earthlink? Was this a dial-up to get email besides using the verizon dsl?
Richard Lyon

I'm not sure I can give you an accurate answer to your question, as I'm not a guru. I had a guru friend install my DSL, but continued to use my Earthlink account for several months. I'm sure it didn't dial the old dialup number, but rather came through the DSL account. I maintained it for several months until the 100's of people that I have contact with had time to get used to the new address. I received emails from both accounts.
then I decided enough spam was enough, and had my friend uninstall the Earthlink Program. I have XP Pro, and used MSOE6 as my browser. I want to continue using it, as I dislike the Verison DSL mail account, but it won't connect when I try to send/receive.
we have both spent many hours doublechecking the setup for both the DSL and MSOE, and are sure they are both set properly, but still OE won't connect.
Thanks
