Yes I have read and reread many of the threads to this subject, but for some reason, when I open the security tab, I do not have anything in it that will allow me to 'check' 'do not allow attachments etc etc..I do not even have a 'virus setting. I am totally baffled. Can anyone help me? I am using v 6 of OE. Everything else works just fine. thanks for looking and a reply if you can help. fran

Franbarb, While in OE - click on tools then options then security and there is a box about the 4th one down that says " Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus." If this box is checked, then you will not be able to open any attachments. Uncheck it. Hope this helps

Well Franbarb, I think if you look down two threads from yours. They also have a problem with OE. Read and follow Kevin's instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling OE. Should help.
