Comment:

Running on a ligit and regular updated XP Pro. Suddenly OE will no longer open.
My first option was to run 'regsvr32 msoe.dll' but then I receive:
LoadLibrary("msoe.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found
Under Program files\OE I have a msoe.dll, v6.0.2900.3138, but do not know if it is refering to that file.
IE running fine and everything else still normal.
I've done a restore to a point some 3 hours before this hiccup, no change.
I've tried MS site for an answer but just running in circles there.
Any suggestions very welcome.

Start > Run > sfc /scannow - note the space. Have your XP install CD handy.

Thanks mavis007 -
No virus problems, running behind a router, also using a software firewall and using up to date pro active av & malware. I've done a scan in the mean time, all clear.
The rest of my puter running as normal except OE which will not open. The full description is:
Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to open the Outlook Express message store. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Contact Microsoft support assistance. (0x8007007E, 126)
My disk cannot be more than 15% full as it is a 320 GB with not much stored. Memory not a problem as Photoshop still running fine.

I tried yr suggestion with sfc /scannow but it keeps on telling me that I've inserted the wrong disk. The XP Pro CD I have is the original and it states 'Inclusive Service Pack 2'.

Then I cannot get out of the loop with 'Cancel' because it keeps on saying cannot find. I'm forced to reboot.
Is there a way I can check if the required files are on this CD?

... worth a try

C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msoe.dll

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\msoe.dll

The easiest way is using Register - Unregister This DLL

download and install - THIS -

Then,
Right click on the file and select Register this dll.

got brain freeze
... wat do I know?

SysLock - strange enough I visited that site while using Google to find anything regarding this issue.
Checked again and made a change and now all 100%

Must be in combination with the tips from mavis007.
I installed that neat context option and applied it to msoe.dll and OE back to normal.
What triggered this problem originally I'll never know but I'm not complaining :-)

Thanks folks for the time and effort, much appreciated.
