After an install on a new machine I am unable to get my trusty Textbridge OCR to work.
Scanner drivers seem to be OK. The OCR installation went OK with one exception (below); setup went flawlessly, correctly scanning text, grayscale, and colour. But at the end of this when I went to scan a document I got the message "unable to scan the page" then nothing.
Could this have anything to do with the error message I got part-way through the installation "The 'Microsoft Agent 2.0' is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running".
This computer, like my last, is running XP. The only difference is one was running SP1 with all patches; the other SP2 with all patches.
Any help?

I am not familiar with Microsoft agent but it appears it is related to speech to text programs. Look at the link below for more info.

Funny!
Now why would an OCR program be interested in speech-to-text? Besides it's never been a problem before, and I've installed it several times on different machines.

You might try a repair of the program. Go to add/ remove programs and select textbridge. If a repair option is available it will be offered. If not you can back out if you want to.
I will say that I had scanner under Win98 that would not install properly unless ALL programs were stud down as they always advise.
The link below may be of some use. There is a FAQ section there and a few updates.
