Can someone please advise, I am having problems with my laptop. When I turn it on it will boot itself around three times and afterwards a black screen appears and says 0 hardware found and it will not allow me to do anything else but turn it off and on. At one point it said something about starting it in safe mode. Do I need to get another hardrive, has it caught an virus or ? Please help

As some of the hardware is built into the motherboard, I would begin to think that you have a motherboard going out. Possibly a short as the option to boot into safe mode is from the operating system and so at that point the hardware is showing but may have lost all the drivers. For that to happen can be various different things such as a virus/malware /spyware and also failed hardware such as a motherboard. If you manage to...allow to boot into safe mode and then navigate to the device manager and see what all is listed but not working. Also check the event viewer and see what it might show although i don't really expect that as all hardware/software is not showing. Start > My computer > properties > hardware tab > device manager To check event viewer: control panel > admin tools > event viewer . and click on the three options in the left side window and scroll down the right window options looking for any errors....do that for all three options!
