Using the drivers that come with the laptop, secondary display is enabled, and also when I boot, the tv displays all the boot section, and the windows loading screen, but then closes as soon as the windows welcome screen comes up.
I know its all working and it can show because as before it loads up ok until the welcome.
ive been through the wizard, there isnt a multiple display wizard, but the properties show 2 screens.
any chance of figuring how to get the tv on please lol.
thanks for reading.

You need to check the parameters for running the second display. There may be a equirement that the second display be set the the same resolution as the primary or be set to VGA (640x480) You should read the manual for details on those settings.

i shall look at nvidias site for any manuals
my laptop was bought second hand, so had no manual.
I never have a problem with any of my 4 pc's with 2 displays, this driver is different to all the others.
Maybe a different nvidia driver might help, or am I asking for trouble?

I suggest you oblain the manual for the laptop and read about the second display there. Download SIW.exe to determine what exact graphics chip is in the laptop. Find SIW below. What brand and model is the laptop?

I have the correct and updated drivers installed now, but still no display.
When I select properties on "display 2" i choose the country, and select the output (s-video), and click ok, the second display pops up the desktop for a blink of an eye and then goes black. So there is a signal going there because my tv goes bright blue with no signal.
I am now at a loss and getting dissapointed with my laptop. for such a good write up, it's a very dissapointing machine.

Can you change the resolution for the second display? If so, try either the same resolution as the primary display or VGA (640x480).
