Hi! I'm a complete novice, I'm afraid. I have a GeForce FX 5700LE, and cannot get it to work properly on my wide-screen monitor: everything looks very fat. I understand that I should load an older driver, but when I go to the website, it appears that I have to buy a Driver Robot (which, in any case, will load the latest.) I do not do games; just want to get a proper display. Pl advise! Thanks!

It sounds like you are not using the correct resolution, and the display is being stretched horizontally.
Go to Display Properties: Right click the desktop > select Properties > Setup tab. Try the different resolution settings until you find one that looks good to you.

Thanks for your reply. I had already done this: the 'test screen' worked perfectly, but when it disappeared, the settings just returned to their former state! Also, the help facility for aspect ratio control described a command which did not exist.

Did you click the 'Apply' button after setting the resolution that looked ok?
And the 'Yes' button after the 'Do you want to keep these settings'?

Thanks again.
Yes, I did do both of those things. I am used to doing these adjustments; it used to work before I downloaded the latest NVIDIA driver. Now I don't know how to get the old driver back.
