|Only message present upon Power up. Prior system running perfect. Only available choices are esc + F10 + F12. I have Windows XP Professional w/ SP2 or SP3 service pack. I do have the Windows XP Professional Inside Out without companion disc. No A: for floppy reboot. |
Problem occurred at public library where another person using MAC at my table. I left the Ethernet cable connected and shut down. When I returned and powered up, the Ethernet cable was still in and the NTLDR was missing. Disconnect the cable and the system searches for missing LAN. Place cable back in and message says something about MAC whatever is not found and system jumps out of LAN accept and back to NTLDR missing.
I can boot from Hard drive (where the problem is), floppy (but without a floppy drive), the LAN network, and the CD-Rom (minus the XP-Professional boot disc).
