I'm having a pretty big problem here...
On my inspiron 5150 (notebook), I wanted to format my HD. So I needed to boot from the win xp cd to do a re-installation. And it was my first problem: I can't access the bios (for some unknown reason), when I press the F2 key at the start, it does nothing.

So what I did was create another partition (e:), install win xp on it, then format my c: with Partition Magic.

And that's where the worst part comes: now when I boot, all I get is this message "NTLDR is missing, press ctrl-alt-del". And since I can't access that bios, I can't boot from a cd either, so I'm pretty much stuck... and desprate!!!

I really need some help on this one

Don't you have to install Partition magic First?

Dante: Partition magic was installed on the e: drive that I created, that that I could format my c: and still use the win xp on the e: (at least that was the original plan).

This files system is indeed NTFS.

Seany: Um, yes, it's the right key.

I have another notebook that is exactly the same (Inspiron 5150), on which I have no problems accessing the bios menu at startup. So for some reason, my pc isn't configured properly or something. But I'm sure there must be a way for me to boot from the CD. However since it's a notebook, I can't really open the machine.
