Specs: Windows XP

Is anyone familiar with nti backupnow ez? It is the software provide on the Toshiba External hard drive I bought recently. I can start the program with the Restore exe file, but I can't open any saved files or restore them to my C: drive on my laptop. The restore feature tells the user to open the files and choose the ones to restore. I can't get any files to go into the blanks. The blanks for the info won't allow me to activate my cursor in them. I use their Browse button and can see the folders and files on the backup drive, but cannot do anything with them. Thanks in advance.

Have you previously done a backup? You have to do a backup before you can do a restore from it.

I recommend Acronis for backup/restore, but Ghost is also very good.

Yes, I did a back up of several programs from my laptop, as well as lots of pictures, music, etc. The back up info went into a folder on the external hard drive named "My Files". I did not have any problems with the back ups from my laptop to the Toshiba drive.

I had to reformat the hard drive on my laptop because I had a trojan on it I could not get rid of with many different software programs designed for that purpose.

There is no Help feature or User Manual for the external hard drive that I can find. I called the NTI folks that made the program. I was told how to run the Restore program, but not how to use it. Was hoping I would not have to call them back for instructions on the Restore program.

NTI make other back up software, but their tech support told me that it is not compatible with the Backupnow EZ program that is put on the Toshiba external hard drives.
