Hi there,

After a possibly bad shutdown my pc (PII 400MHZ 352MB RAM Win XP Pro) refused to startup with message "ntfs.sys corrupted in c:\windows\system32\drivers. I have two partitions, both NTFS, and can find the file on the setup disc in the I386 dir, but I am not able to move it to the specified location in DOS (one of the advantages of NTFS, right?). How do I do this?
To make things worse: boot from cd goes wrong. I cannot remember exactly (currently I am on another pc), but thr "r"(repair) option is not shown, setup disc gives an error too. I do NOT have an emergency disc.
How can I move the ntfs.sys to the folder, or repair Windows (i.e. boot from cd again; setup.exe is not started from cd under DOS)
Kind regards, Pieter
