Is there a way I can restore files I lost after I upgraded my drives from FAT32 to NTFS
with out backing them up. I can see files anymore.

Converting from Fat32 to NTFS does NOT lose files if the convert command was used! Partition Magic can convert back to Fat32, but even PM says to backup your files just in case. If they now don't exist, PM won't find them.
