Keep in mind that it's not as easy to switch back to FAT32.

May I ask why you want to do this?

I have never personally done it but have read posts where things have gone terribly wrong when doing the change, just wanted to caution you that things can happen where all data can be lost, back up what you cannot afford to lose

If you're PC is for work rather then Gaming I would recommend keeping Fat32 as it is easier to recover Data

I'm sorry, using XP in Fat 32 defeats thew entire purpose, of having the XP Os...stability, as well as security and issues like compressed files etc...

There have been many debates on this subject but the fact is that XP is perfectly stable under FAT32 and a great many users have absolutely no need of the security features nor compressed folders so thus far I'm afraid your arguments for NTFS are far from convincing.

thanks every one!
but the fact and matter is this security of a thing! I need it so badly (file permission, encryption, sharing and stuffs) due to the environment that i operate on. at the same time dont wanna risk the systems status-quo. in the event of failure can i still recover my data?
