NTFS forever?

Is NTFS irreversible? If not, how do I make the drive "fixed" so I can use FDISK? I've tried reformating, installing, and deleting the partions from the XP CD.
If I am stuck w/ a 20 gig NTFS drive, is there a way to install WIN 98 SE on a partition inside the XP os?
there is a program called delpart which goes onto a floppy and erases ntfs partitions. once they're gone you can boot with a 98 bootdisk and fdisk the hdd and then format it. i'll send it to you, check your email.

well you can get back to fat32 but what you do is boot up with you windows xp cd than delete any partition/s that are ntfs. Beware to back up any important data that you want to keep. (documents, favorites, email, stuff like that) or else you will lose it. You dont have to use fdisk but can But you can just go ahead and recreate the partitions with the xp cd and than if you want 98 stop right there and install 98 if you want dual boot make 2 partions instead of one. than format the first one or both using 98 than install it. Now install XP on the other partition that is if you want dual boot.
Reading your comment i saw that you want to have both opperating systems on your pc... WIn98 and WINXP. To do that you have to download or buy a programme called Partition Magic 6.01..It helps you convert your NTFS partition to FAT32...Then you can format your pc ,install win 98 and then XP not upgrade because is going to overwrite them.
