NTFS disk space gone missing

I have my 120 GB hard disk partitioned into 4 NTFS partitions. I use one for temporary storage. I have deleted all files and directories except Recycler (which I emptied) and System Volume Information. I have emptied the recycle bin. My swap files and temporary files are on other drives. Yet, the drive shows 80 GB capacity, 57 GB Free. I have run a disk defrag on this drive (remember it is empty) and it is showing files that it is moving (.vob, .wav, .mpg), but these do not show up on any of the directory listings - and the defrag took hours (of course, I am showing hidden and system files). Anyone have a clue as to what is going on? Where are these files, how can I delete them, why aren't they showing up on listings? TIA for your help. Fred
