I'd stick with ntfs. Less defragmenting needed more secure and more stable when running xp. Why buy xp if your gonna run it fat 32?

As Chad says, NTFS is more secure, more reliable and less defragmenting. No more lost clusters or crosslinked files with NTFS.

The only thing that Fat32 has in its favour is that it is slightly faster, but then its not doing half the work that NTFS is.

To buy XP and run it on Fat32 is negating some of the advantages of using XP in the first place.

I run a P3 1.3gig 133FSB, and it has out performed the newer Pentium 4's. I would stick with your pentium 3 and then slap a higher CPU in it. Depending on your memory, i would have atleast 256 installed.

Here at my house we network off my P3 1.3 gig and we have 3 Pentium 3 450Mhz computers, and even the 450's run very fast.

Depending on what your using the computer for you may need to upgrade and you may not need to upgrade any hardware.

Well it depends what you really want to do... I run a AMD 3200+@2.42Ghz with 1.5GB DDR@400Mhz and a 6 Level RAID 0 Array, but I do alot of work with various things.. and it runs the network here in my little corner of the world rather well. Again it depends what you want to do, we run alot of 2.0Ghz Celerons, with 256MB of RAM, and GeForce4 VGA cards, and they do well for network games. however.. if you want real speed.. and are willing to spend bank, then the AMD 3200+, on an MSI nForce2 400FSB, and 1GB of DDR would be well.. or an Intel P4@3.06Ghz with simalar things.. either way, the more you spend.. in the doctrine of capitolism you should get a faster PC. :S I am confuzed its.. early... leave me alone! :D
