wAlright here is the problem,

Yesterday i was running some programs to get rid of spy-ware (spybot, ad-aware) because of processes that were running in the background (POP, Bargain Buddy .ect) so after clearing spyware i shutdown my comp because it was late. So this morning i wake up and turn my comp on... then it says NTDETECT Failed and restarts, It keeps doing this until i turn the comp off.

I have no clue on what this is, i have some ideas but i don't have the time to mess around with it. Thank you for suggestions or answer and just ask if you need more information

Try booting the XP disk (u may have to set the cdrom as first boot device in the bios), and enter Recovery Console.

When at the C:> prompt, type:
COPY X:\i386\NTDETECT.COM C: (where X is ur cdrom drive letter)

May well be worth running 'fixboot' as well while ur there.

GoodLuck

This message normally occurs when u try to copy to a removable drive or cdrom......

Anyways, if u have access to another XP machine, then try formatting a floppy disk and copy boot.ini, NTDetect and ntldr files to it (hidden system files on root C).

Boot that floppy on the faulty machine and it should 'boot through' into Windows.

Now u can copy NTDetect from the floppy to ur C drive.

Hope this helps
