I recently installed a new dell that replaced a compaq on an NT server based network. The compaq ran xp home as well and had 2 mapped drives back to the NT box. My problem is after setting up the Dell, I have to click on one of the network drives and re-log in order to get it to reconnect. I set the user login/password and workgroup as what was on the compaq. Reconnect at logon is also checked. If I delete the drives all together, the only way to remap again is to go to run, type \\servername and login from there; otherwise, I can't get any drives on the server to show up when mapping the usual way.
Nothing has changed on the server with respect to the user's login. She is also set up with admin rights on the Dell.

Is the NIC putting itself to sleep? Check the power settings under the network config.

Hey Dave,
No, this happens after either a cold or warm boot. Once you login on the drive, theres no problem. The drives even look connected as they don't have the red "x" on them. However, over to the left where it shows the drive properties, it says it's disconnected.
This seems like a permissions issue but I can't figure out what would have changed there.
