Now starting windowsxp setup

okey try'd to install winxp.. yough everything whas fine untill it rebooted the first time and came into a black windows that said: now starting windowsxp setup.. okey you saw a white line loading.. it finished loading.. and i get a black screen.. that's it.. got almost the same prob with win2000... please help!!!

Had a similar problem. Maybe yours is the same. Are you doing clean install? If you are installing clean to a new hard drive, look to see what your drive requirements are for "alone", master and slave, and set the jumper accordingly. For my WesterDigital drive a jumper was NOT needed for stand alone. I thought "master" would work, but bios did not detect it set as master. Watch on POST to see if the drive is detected! Good luck
