For some reason I have no am/pm visible on one of my windows xp user accounts. All other work fine.

When I open the clock feature I dont even have an option to choose!

Thats because that particular user has the clock configured for a 24 hour clock. AM/PM is superfluous in those circumstance as 17:48:19 could not be anything else but PM.

The user need to go into Control Panel>Regional and Language options and configure for a 12 hour clock is that is what they want. Then they will see AM or PM as appropriate.

Also it's called 24-hour clock.

Windows HELP says ---

To change the way your computer displays the time
Open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
On the Regional Options tab, under Standards and formats, click Customize.
On the Time tab, specify any changes you want to make.
If you do not see the format you want in Time format, follow these guidelines:

To Do this
Display time in a 24-hour format Type uppercase H or HH for the hour
Display time in a 12-hour format Type lowercase h or hh for the hour
Display leading zeros in single-digit hours Type two characters, HH or hh
Suppress the display of leading zeros in single-digit hours, minutes, or seconds Type a single uppercase H, or lowercase letter, such as h, m, or s
Display a single letter to indicate AM or PM Type lowercase t
Display two letters to indicate AM or PM Type lowercase tt
Display text Type single quotation marks (') around text

Note

To open Regional and Language Options, click Start, click Control Panel, click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options, and then click Regional and Language Options.

Chuck, did you see what I wrote? :)

Stu, do you still have the link to that other time post where we discussed "Army Time?" I can't find it.

http://www.computing.net/answers/wi... is the one I was trying to find. I guess more than one person thinks the 24-hour clock is "Army Time." LOL Thanks.

I'm a Vet. Intel, if you REALLY want to be impressed by some knowledge, take a look at Stu's comments in the link from Response 6.

I wasn't questioning anyone's knowledge, I simply found it funny that you stated that there is no Am/Pm for a 24 hour clock; like it was a new found fact in the world and that no-one else knew about it.

Anyone with half a brain stem knows that.

Also, congratulations on the veterinary qualification.

The OP didn't know otherwise he wouldn't have asked the question.
