Hello everyone,
If you did not know, 7 flaws have been revealed and patches are available for the sp2 pack. Get an update for your wxp os at m$
frank

Surprise, surprise... More patches to fix the patches. Well I guess it wouldn't be a microsoft product if it didn't leak.

got'em already, no problems at all with sp2 or new fixes.
I stand outside of my system, looking in...and smile and smile and smile.
Time is the universes way to stop everything happening at the same time

Does anyone happen to know if MS will release a "final - patched" cd of SP-2?
I personally doubt it, but was wondering what others might think. My guess is that the current SP-2 cd is the only one, so after the install you go and get the patches... is this correct?
Many thanks; enjoy your Saturday..

Hi Tommyo. They are already patching it, so I doubt there will any new final release.
Please post back within 24 hours or I will delete the post from my follow up list. Thanks.

Hi tommyo,
Hope you're feeling better. The current SP2 as we know it is the only one that Microsoft distributed last August for free as an upgrade and also as a new retail version. I was in the store the other day and noticed the redesigned XP box with a yellow rectangle on the upper left corner saying something about SP2.
Patches for SP2 is not unusual, just like it was for SP1.

Hi Tommyo
You won't necessarily have many Patches to do - it really depends on your setup but I have only had two since Installing SP2
Lesley

Hello per, XpUser, and Lesley..thanks very much for the info! I have backed up all my important photos, and am "oh so close" as to the install.
I am probably getting paranoid for nothing, actually.. as my pc is running great and all clean and current with all updates.
Once I back up some documents, I'll most likely do the install.Thank you for asking about my health! I am doing much better, as I am on some new meds here. So far, no malignancy in the upper torso, but they want a closer look at my spine and bone marrow. They can't pinpoint the reason for the problem with red blood cells; something is wrong with them.
Enjoy your weekend, all.. Beautiful here in new England today! Nice fall foliage this year.. Take care everyone...

Tommyo:If you've heard it once, I'm sure you've heard it a hundred times. Before installing SP2, make the very last things you do: A thorough scan with your McAfee AV software; complete scans with your anti-spyware utilities; defrag the HDD. Then, you're set to go. 8-)
Since its release, I've installed SP2 on nearly a half dozen boxes with nary a problem. For good measure, I also do a general registry cleanup (just my preference).
Good luck and enjoy that fine New England WX. Dropped into the 50s here in FL last night. A bit chilly for the beach today, but just right for the beer and babes.

Hi Guys,
Do you think they should change the name from windows to winblows. It would be window without patches and updates -sell it first, fix it later-.Sorry to hear about your hospital visits TommyO, to be on the safe side Tommy, get a second opinion, my wife died because she did not want to get a second opinion, as the first guy didn't know what he was talking about,

In 1978 I thought about a job in writing applications. A top level computer admin showed me a book of 50,000 applications for just about everything under the sun. I said right there a fella would have to be an idiot to get into coding.
Well, I guess I could have made patches for the last 25 years. I'm sure a lot of people have.

Hi Solarian, and Frank... thanks for the info, Solarian.. I've been reading quite a bit, so I'm just about ready....I just have to burn some stuff to cd's first.
Beautiful here in Mass.; but starting to get cooler.. I agree re: the beer and babes !!!Thanks Frank, and thank you for the kind thoughts. While this stuff is pretty new to me, I guess I've got the best oncologist in my area. He seems very thorough.
Very sorry to learn of your wife and not getting the second opinion.
Right now, I've got 4 different docs, so I feel pretty confident with their many, many tests and diagnosis. Thanks again for your concerns; I appreciate it very much!~Tommyo
