Here is my problem: When I try to open any thing from my desktop every thing disappers and then reappears and nothing ever opens. Example: I try to open internet explorer I get nothing. When i right click on the start button to Explore I get nothing. Somethings still work like games and such but none of my folders work nor any of the other icons.

Has anyone seen this?

A guess here:

You may have a corrupt user profile. To check this, create a new profile, if all works correctly in the new account, that is a good indicator that the current profile is corrupt. You may be able to fix things by running a Repair Installation, but I suggest doing the following first.

create + copy data to a new user profile
