notebook display problem

Eee NOTEBOOK
February 6, 2009 at 03:44:12
Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, 2.992 GHz / 2046 MB
I have a new notebook. Unless the display is set to 1024 x 600 I cannot see the Taskbar and the Start button. I set it to that but every time I re-boot it defaults to 1024 x 768. I have tried 'Apply' and 'OK' and everything, but it persists. I have Fonts set to 'Normal'.

Don't double-post. Stick with your original thread here: http://www.computing.net/answers/ha...

Don't know what you mean by a 'native' resolution. How do I find out what it is? How do I reinstall the video drivers? I don't have them on a CD. The notebook is an Asus notebook C904 made by EEE. I admit that I 'double posted' but that is because, when I did it the first time, I wasn't given a reference number (I WAS given one the SECOND time I posted), and I couldn't see my original question up there (let alone your answers) when I went on 24 hours later. So I assumed I'd done something wrong and re-submitted my question. I have only received email notification of an Answer in the last hour or so, although you both appear to have answered yesterday. Don't think I have quite got the hang of this forum! Anyway - thank you Richard

Post the model number of the notebook, as you should have already and someone will tell you the native resolution.

Your response should have been posted in your other thread since that's where the replies are (I haven't looked, so I'm assuming...)
