Comment:

Recently when I turn my computer on and then go to open a window, ANY WINDOW, I get a little pop up grey error box that says 'not a valid date'. I checked my system, my system has the correct date and year. I don't know what's causing this, and it will do it several times before it goes away.

Any clues here?

Thanks,
Jeff

I had a simular problem, it turned out to be a date format problem. one program I had installed did not like non american date ie
dd,mm,yy when I changed this to mm,dd,yy it was quite happy.

Probably is the date format.

Any programme that refused to work without the date format being in mm,dd,yy, format would'nt last long on my computer.

Ambiguous dates like 11/12/2003 can appear to work correctly although produce incorrect information. Unambigous date like 27/4/2003 will produce and error. Consequentely I have my date formted to produce 11 Dec 2003, thus removing all ambiguity.

Different date formats is such and easy thing to accommodate that it would make me wonder what other mistakes and ommisions the prgrammer had made.

Stuart
