Whenever I try to run Norton SpeedDisk I get an error message:

The speed disk service has been disabled.
Please re-enable the service using Control Panel before running Speed disk.

How do I re-enable speed disk, there doesnt seem to be an icon for it in Control Panel.

I am running SystemWorks 2003.

Try this instead:
Start > Run > services.msc then look for an entry like "Speed Disk Service" and make sure it's startup type is set to Automatic. If that still doesn't help, run eventvwr.msc to look for a more descriptive error message in the System Log.

To enable the Speed Disk service

Open the Services dialog box:

For Windows XP:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel. The Control Panel appears.

Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Services. The Services dialog box appears.

Right-click Speed Disk service. A menu appears.

Click Properties. The Speed Disk service Properties dialog box appears.

Click the Log On tab, and then click Enable.

Click OK.
