Comment:

I am using Ghost 2003. Lately Ghost won't write to my removable HD. It did before. It starts in DOS, the Ghost GUI comes up and then cuts off with the error number 8027. The log file says:
"ExecutionStateParam = ExecutionFailed"

This is the only reference to Ghost "error 8027" on the Symantec site. Is your external drive a Amacon Flipdisk 2 external USB drive?
=============================================

Error: "Error: 8027 - A GeneralException occurred" while performing an integrity check

Situation:
While performing an integrity check on a successfully created image from a Amacon Flipdisk 2 external USB drive, you receive the error, "Error 8027 - A GeneralException occurred".

Solution:
Symantec is aware of this problem, and there is no solution at this time. This document will be updated if new information becomes available or a solution is found.

Hi, mikeo. No my HD is not USB. It's a Samsung that is housed in a removable tray.
Thanks very much for your suggestions.

Re. my above Ghost problem.
I had a DVD writer fitted to my computor a few weeks ago and thinking this may in some way have caused the problem, I contacted the technician who installed it and he suggested fitting an 80 wire IDE cable in place of the 40 wire one. This has fixed my problem. Can any one tell me why?
