I am going to use norton ghost 2003 to make a drive image. I have a 20gb HD. How much space will i need to make an image of this drive?

If you are using 6gb of that 20gb thats what ghost are going to backup and you are going to need some cd-r's to do that, remember the cd-r only have 700 or 800 mb. but if you have an dvd+r you are going to need at least 2 disk.

It depends, Ghost has 3 levels of compression. On the lowest setting there is no compression, you will get a 1 to 1 ratio. On the highest setting, it will generally compress the data to about half the size. Keep in mind though that it depends on what type of data you are compressing. If it is an operating system and programs, it will compress it to approz half the size. If your hard drive contains compressed files such as MP3's it won't compress those at all.
