Someone I know emailed me about a computer problem she's having, and I thought I'd post it here to see if anyone has any suggestions to pass on. Here's what she said: "I have another computer issue. Damn these things. As of yesterday whenever I click on to email I first get a little box saying " windows installer..... preparing to install" Then over that comes a new little box saying "Norton AntiVirus 2006 does not support the Repair feature. Please uninstall and reinstall." I have shut it right down, I have ran a Norton scan etc and it is still there. Now what I'm really not sure about it if I have in fact to do this I'm not sure I can cause I renewed my Anti Virus on line in March and do not have the disc. Sooooo any thoughts."

Oh yes... She's using Outlook (not sure what version) and she upgraded from Norton 2005 to 2006 in March. I've already suggested to her to reinstall Office and to contact Norton about re-downloading and installing Norton 2006.

Either that or disable email scanning in the Norton configuration. Have you looked this error up on the Symantec site? Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
