Notron AV keeps saying autoprotect is disabled although when I go to the options, autoprotect is already checked. However, if I manually open this option box, make no changes, and click ok, everything is fine and autoprotect is enabled and working like a charm. Anybody have any ideas?

I had similar issues using an older version of norton for 95 when i when to 98, 98 disables it as it conflicts with the system, to find out if this is the case check out compatibily list from the MS site.

Hi.

Have you tryed to uninstall NAV and install it again?
I run NAV2002 with Win.XP PRO and it have never made any problems.
Try even to update the program and restart your computer after that.

Peter,
I had a 3 month trial of just norton AV and I had no problems but the problems began when I uninstalled AV and plugged in the full year of Internet Security which included AV. It appears that I can't just remove the AV component but I have to remove the whole security group. Can I leave the update engines or should those go too and start clean?

This auto-protect problem is not new to Norton. There may be a fix for some by removing a specific component (which I don't have). They are "gathering info".
