lately i have noticed my computer acting funny sometimes when i load the internet explorer. many times it takes much longer than normal to load and recently my norton anti virus freezes everytime i run a system scan. Not sure if this is some sort of virus or some other problem. The computer is less than a half year old. Just wondering what my best choice is.
Thanks for the help.

your best choice IMO is to D/L Comodo free Firewall and Avast Free AV and then go to the Norton site and get the uninstaller for Norton. After it is fully uninstalled using the uninstaller, fire up Comodo and Avast (let Avast do a bootscan and whatever it finds, move it to the chest)and you should have smooth sailing at no cost to you. Sometimes free is good, in this case anyways. I used to use AVG, but Avast is so much better as it catches problems in REAL time as you surf as well as updates as you surf. No scheduled scans needed, etc.
Norton has always been a resource hog as well as McAfee.
The choice is yoursYou should also do extensive Spyware checks, as spyware does strange things to a PC.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Tried your advice and i installed comodo and the full system scan stopped once again. It said there was an error. Any more ideas that may help.
Thanks for the help.

which system scan are you talking about now?
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

I have both the anti virus and firewall comodo installed right now and in the antivirus there is a full system scan feature that is the one that keeps freezing just as my norton av was doing.
Thanks for the help.

you still lost me....WHICH AV are you using?
I would not recommend the free Comodo AV, JUST the firewall, I would rather use Avast Free and let it do a bootscan when you use it.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
