I upgraded to Norton 2004 antivirus/internet security now when I try to do a live update or go into another website I am told "cannot find server" even though I am connected to the internet. Are there settings that I am missing? Please help. Thanks.

Did you register the software? How do you know you are connected to the internet?

Yes, I have registered it. I know I am connected to the internet. I go online first then open Norton. When I open NIS then I cannot open any web page. Does anyone have an 800 number for Norton or Symantec tech support?

About a month ago, I got avirus and upgraded my Norton 2002 to Norton 2004. The virus did a pretty good job at screwing things up on my hard drive. I reformated reinstalled everything. Everything worked great for a couple of days then I couldn't understand why certain web pages would load and why others would take forever to load, if they loaded at all. Anyhow, I noticed that the Norton "Auto-protect" and "email scanning" features were disabled. At work, I had a similar problem with Norton conflicting with other software and was able to resolve the problem by uninstalling the newer version of Norton and installing the previous version. So I did the same thing for my home PC. After paying for an upgrade and subscription after recieving a nasty virus, I did away with the upgrade and am using Norton 2002. This fixed my problem. It may work for you. Hope this helps.
