So they say Norton System works is compatible with XP... or so I thought. First of all:
I have Norton System Works running under Me. The scan disk is exactly the same as in Norton 2001. Today I installed XP on my second computer, followed by Norton 2002 and...the scan disk has a completely different look. what am I missing?
Second: Some options are missing i.e. optimazation wizard. Yes I did install it.
Could anyone tell me what is going on?
Third: System Works 2002 include Go Back by Roxio. Great software. too bad XP doesn't like ir at all. If I installe it I have problems with booting. I have to use the XP Cd or otherwise my computer wan't start. Once uninstalled, everything works fine.
Any thoughts? Thanks:)

I have 2002, on my comp, only antivirus active, the rest I use as I need. I believe the optimization isnt needed in XP as it does that itself somewhat. My goback works fine on both comps with XP pro.

Now, something interesting, if you leave off cleansweep 2002, and install cleansweep 2001 in its place, you can delete XP files with it......YES, even moviemaker!

The big difference is Me vs XP. Because XP is more secure, the Norton can't do or need do what it did with Me. I think if you installed Norton on NT instead, you would see the same differences.

I have a Norton AV instaled on my computer and rest of SysWorks I run once a month from CD. WinXP has very good utilities, so there is no need for extra expt. NAV witch is the best one in my opinion

Thank you all. I guess I'll just have to get used to a different working environment:)

this is a interesting thread - i posted the same query yesterday in a symantec newsgroup but didnt get anywhere near the same level of info as you guys!! So all the excellent features of cleansweep 2001 like orphan finder/redundant dll finder/registry sweep/ duplicate and unused file types that arent on the 2002 version - are they just not required? or redundant? the symantec technician stated that they (symantec) had a load of bad vibes/feedback about these particular facilities so they were taken off the newer disk.(!) shame cos i thought they were great and very educational! I like the idea of joemans comment about not installing the 2002 version (of cleansweep) but putting on the 2001 version when doing the install - i might try that to see if is worthwhile, or maybe this new XP o/s system is as good as they say it is and we dont need to worry so much... (do you really believe that) thanks anyway
