When computer says "No volumes found"?
When a computer says "No volumes found" what exactly does that mean? No partitions made??? This happens when I try to get my laptop started and it goes straight to the black screen instead of opening windows. I still can hit f10 and get into my bios if I want to alter something so this would be a good sing then that I can still access my bios right? This laptop came from my fathers work as a employee freebee which was once used for the business. Im sure they had to erase everything but I think my dad said windows xp was still on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;} Sorry, Im not too computer smart. ;} It is a HP Compaq Evo n800c THNX!!

Haylibug, my guess is that upon boot up, the company had a certain bit of software load/run. When things got wiped, the file went away, but it's still referenced in the start up menu. The file's gone, hence the error. Not too sure what to recommend, but that's my guess.
Possible you could load Linux (can be done without making it permanent) and edit the start up menu? Sorry, I can't guide you, but perhaps someone can? FWIW, find a list of 'musts' for the start menu @:
