After intalling a Hauppauge WinTV PCI Card (for the FM Radio on my XP machine) the volume control is not on taskbar...when I go to check the box to place icon on taskbar the following message appears: Note: Cannot display volume control on taskbar because volume control program has not been installed. To Install use the add/remove programs in Control panel?! I have looked everywhere...how do I place a volume control back on taskbar? I have SB Audigy and my new WinTV FM Radio card works fine. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices. Under Pick a task, click Change the speaker settings. In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box, on the Volume tab, select the Place volume icon in the taskbar check box, and then click OK. Now, when you want to adjust the volume, click the icon and move the slider.

im not sure if this will work for you but you can try to re/install the software(your new card cd) in add/remove programs then go to sounds /devices and try again as sometimes all files are not copied when you install new software like when i had to install "98" 3 times to get all the files.....just a thought ,good luck daytona
