Ok, I just finished building a pretty decent computer... Athlon XP 1700+, GeForce2 MX200 32mb, Creative Labs Audigy MP3+ 5.1, and 256 mb PC2100 DDR RAM on a M7VIB BioStar Mobo. 300 watt power supply. Everything sounds fine when I boot up, I get the single beep and everything, but there is no display on the monitor at all. The monitor has a green light showing it's receiving a video signal, but nothing shows up. If I press a key on the keyboard, the floppy starts searching for a disk...So it seems to be working ok, except there is no video. I tried swapping it out and using an old TNT2 16mb card, same thing happens. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

does the Mobo have on board graphics as well? if it does it could be sending the signal to that by default.

could have a defective monitor/cable, do you know if its good or can you test it some other way.

another common problem is the brightness and contrast being turned all the way down, try turning them up if they are manual controls or look at the through the on screen display (should come up if the monitor is ok, even if its not getting a signal)

hope one of these is of some help.

Most probably the AGP multiplier is wrong. The basic VGA display will boot on anything however, if the multiplier is wrong it never gets that far

Ok, I went in today to reset the BIOS and I turned it on, it started up for about 3 seconds, then dies again...I checked that the power switch is working properly and I checked that the fan was mounted properly. Anyone have any idea why it would start up and then shut down 3 seconds later?
