System restore is enabled and running on my system.
However it creates no restore points either automatically or manually. When I try to set a manual restore point I get the error message:
"System Restore is not able to create a restore point. Please restart the computer,
and then run the System Restore again." - Which only gives the same result again.I have tried the troubleshooting advice in Microsoft Q302796.
I beleive I have enough room in my partitions, al off thenm are about have about half of their space free (4-6 GB).
When I try to run System Restore in safe mode there is only one option: "Restore
my computer to an earlier time" - Which is quite useless without restore points. The event viewer only lists two occurences of "sr" or "srservice" which was one time
I tried to disable and later enable system restore.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

System Restore "Restore Points" Are Missing or Deleted
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q301224

Are you running Home or Pro? I tried everything suggested here and on the MS pages to no avail when I was running Home. I am now running Pro and have had no problems fot the last 7 months.

Thank you for answering me.
I am running Pro.
I checked Q301224 (and Q299904 and Q300044).
There seems to be nothing there that applies to my system.I just wonder, - I have a hidden partition which I use for win 98 to run a couple of scanners that were incompatible with XP.
When I check with Administrative tools ->
Computer Management -> Disk Management I can see this partition of 961 Mb with 516 mb free space. The partition was made with Partition Magic and I use Boot Magic to boot into it, not XP's dual boot system.
Could perhaps this partition be the troublemaker, - actually I don't believe that.I also think I saw somwhere somebody complaining over System Restore and Norton Antivirus, could there be something - I'm running the NAV 2002.
