Specs: Windows xp
My old laptop was stolen so i got an older one as a replacement....its compaq nc64000 but the trouble is that the guy who gave it to me erased everything from the harddrive since it was in another language. So now i need to make a totally new install of windows xp. Whenever i start up the laptop it gives me that no system disk error....i tried to burn an xp dvd but it did not work. I dont have an original windows xp cd with me since im abroad and wont be going home anytime soon.

Could you please explain to me where to get a good bootable windows xp and how to burn it so it works?

Well if you were really lucky, when it starts it might give you the option for Recovery, meaning there is a recovery image with windows etc. If that is not an option, see if anyone has a disk of xp to copy. Windows XP is on cd not dvd. You pretty much need the xp install disk, there are people on-line who have the ISO image or what not that works, unfotunately I have never had to use an on-line copy and therefore cannot recommend a link, perhaps someone else on the forums has a suggestion. You are on the right track.
