no suspend in xp

had full function suspend (start menu, key board, power management) with win 98 se. clean install of win xp and it disappears from power management, grayed out in start menu shutdown, no keyboard function. have gone back and forth 3 times, same results. any ideas? FIC AD11 mainboard
