Hi, I'm trying to record audio (a stream from the internet in Cool Edit) but mysteriously there is no 'stereo mix' slider in the recording section of Volume Control.... What's going on!? I've got a new Dell Inspiron 6400 and the drivers seem to be working fine... Please take a look at this... http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/461/image12uv.jpg What's that about? Cheers in advance guys...

Personnaly, I have never seen a 'Stereo Mix' control for a sound card. Of course, I have always used cheapies.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

click options, then properties, then move the setting for recording, then check the box next to stereo mix and click ok. add as many of the others while there by putting check marks in the boxes.

Thanks www, but that's exactly the problem - the tickbox options are not there - take a look at the screenshot =o)

It's odd, but I've posted it on the Dell forum as I think it might be a driver issue

thanx guys! =o)

from notebookreview.com the audio chipset driver doesn't support it, for that dell.
and it also said "only found one app that has its own mixer (Total Recorder)"

Thanks - I've just learnt this from the DELL audio forums, seems everyone's having similar problems... Dell being a bit crap in not sorting this out...

Cheers bud!
