Hi,
I'm using a Compaq Presario 2817EA with 30GB and running Win XP home.
All was working well until 2 days ago when I started using Adobe Photoshop with larger files.Since then I have NO C drive space left - even when I delete files it shows free space and a few minutes later it is full again. I deleted lots of .mp3 files and got 5GB free - after a few minutes it was down to 122 MB again and I had not done anything!
I have tried the Defrag program but it does not make any difference. I have deleted *.tmp files and run the PcPitStop program.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can get it back to normal again?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Michelle

Some viruses cause free space to be incorrectly reported so try a virus scan. Other than that, it might be the windows swap file getting large although its a little unlikely. Hope that helps.

First i would visit trend micro's site for a virus scan..or panda's site.
If that turns up clean then do a disk cleanup..start> programs> accessories> system tools> disk cleanup. That will empty your internet temp files, recycle bin, etc. In the more options window on disk cleanup you can empty all but the last restore point. That takes LOTS of room. You have to remove some restore points periodically as windows makes one every time yo install new programs, remove programs, and shut down i think...
I usually reboot after that and you should see a huge difference.
I've seen several gig used up with restore files.
Good luck

Dear No space left on C drive.
please see disappearing hard dive space on this forum.I am not an expert but it might be your restore points taking up your memory.
