I am using abit th7II-raid motherboard which has onboard realtek/avancelogic 97 sound. Suddenly the sound stopped, just an occassional loud pop occurs. XP says no audio device drivers present, however, everything in device manager is enable and working properly. Have uninstalled, reinstalled from both safe mode and normal mode to no avail. Have obtained updated drivers from ftp site, still no response. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks, Tony

My main concern is if the onboard sound has failed, then what else on the motherboard will fail, it is still under warranty. I was hoping it was a common XP problem. I will try the sound card, thank you.
