Comment:

My pc has stopped making any sound at all,I think I might have some problem with the audio controller, but I don't know what to do.

This is the sound summary:
Sound Chip Vendor - Intel Corporation
Sound Chip - 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller
AC'97/HDA Codec Name - C-Media Electronics CMI9761
Codec Enhancement - No 3D Stereo Enhancement

Is there anything that I could do?

Have you looked into the BIOS. And looked to see if the audio service is running.
Devmgmt.msc also doesn't your sound card have alsndmgr.cpl have a look at that. Don't give up yet

start > rt clk "my computer" > properties >
hardware tab > device mangaer....scroll down to "sound, video and game controllers and look for any yellow '!' or red '?' marks. If not dble click to open the controller screens and then see if the audio controller is listed...If there is no audio controller then you should try to re-install the driver for it.

Look at the computers manufacturer's website and look under support/downloads for your model and then drivers. There should be the audio drivers for your operating system.

Download them to your desktop and close out all other applications. Dbl clk the file and it should start the self installation...when finished reboot the computer and windows will find the new hardware and install the new drivers for it!
