No Sound when playing DVD's

I have windows media player 9, all sounds work fine except when playing DVD's, at this point I have no sound at all. What can I do to solve this problem?? Any help would be great.

Don't know if this will help.
Control panel, sounds and audio devices, audio. Bring up the volume mixer, and make sure nothing is muted and that the volumes are at an appropriate level.

Try a different decoder like WinDVD or PowerDVD and see. The problem might be from WMP.

Original dvds? or copies? if copies you need to find out which codec was used to encode them and install it on your machine.

I installed power dvd and it worked fine in both power dvd and media player, but when i uninstalled power dvd, there was no sound again... I'm assuming i need to install a codec, but which one??
