All of the sudden, I hear no sound from any web pages which includes games, videos, etc. I am using both (latest versions) Firefox and Internet Explorer. Everything on my local PC works fine including games, music, movies. Anything via the web is silent. Any ideas why?
Thank you.

CPU13, Open Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, under Multimedia checkmark Play sounds on web pages, click Apply/OK.

IE is already set as such. Again, the problem is also with Firefox.

1.Uninstall any security softwares(Firewalls & Antivirus)

2.Start->Run->Msconfig->Startup Tab(Top right)->Disable all->Restart ur system and check again

3.Run malware scan from housecall.trendmicro.com

1. I am using none right now.

2. Nothing is in there.

3. My PC is one of the cleanest in the world.

I am a semi-guru with Windows. This is just one of the many things to stump me. I still can not hear from Firefox and I even upgraded to the beta of IE7. Still no help for either.

Updated info that may help someone who understands web pages……

Using both Firefox 1.5.0.6 and IE 7 beta 7.0.5700.6 (as of yesterday as I have been using IE6x).

So far, the only sounds I can get from a web site are:
http://www.filecabi.net/video/jailedcat.html
http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/mark/audio/play.htm

But I can not hear sounds from sites like:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3637639460474263178

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3vxDcBLGaU&mode=related&search=
Or anything on Youtube.

http://www.whiteboydj.com/babygotbook.html

Or anything from the entire G4TV.com site.
