No sound on my computer

October 27, 2012 at 15:27:02
Specs: Windows XP
After using "force remove software" tool to remove a couple of programs, I accidentally removed my sound card driver. Then I reinstalled the driver later but still no sound. I've tried to do "system restore", I was told it can not complete. Can you experts help me. Thanks.

Follow the below mentioned steps in order which could fix the issue:

Click "Start". Right-click the "My Computer” icon. Choose "Properties," "Hardware" and "Device Manager."

Click "Sound, video and game controllers". Right-click the multimedia audio controller and choose "Update Driver". Click "Next". Allow Windows to search its driver database for updated drivers.

Go to the sound card, motherboard or computer manufacturer website. Go to the download section and check for updated sound card drivers. Download the drivers to your computer if you find an update.
Double-click the downloaded file. Follow the on-screen instructions to go through the driver installation. Generally you choose an installation location, agree to the license agreement and click "Next" until the installation is complete. Restart your computer.

Let us know the Results
