I recently had to reinstall Windows. Now my computer won't detect its sound card. I'm guessing this is because it doesn't have its drivers installed anymore, but how can I reinstall them or get new ones when I don't know what kind of sound card I have? (It's just the one that came with the computer)

The mystery is what computer make and model. YOu can go to www.hp.com website and download the appropriate ones for the model if that is what you have.

Hello, robertj. Belarc works for what has drivers installed very well, but in mystery cases like this, Everest Home Edition at www.lavalys.com can identify the component! It is free as well. I like them both.

With an HP, the driver and the component are VERY easy to find at the website.
