Recently purchased Norton Partition Magic 8.0 and asked for technical help over the issue of already having a partition on my computer and if I need to also install Boot Magic from the Partition Magic cd. I got a response back from Norton, but the reply more or less described what I need to do to make my computer stable before using Partition Magic. So.... I replied back to Norton about my main question again and still got the run around.
I know that before using Partition Magic you need to back up everything, but what I don't know is if I already had a partition on my computer (which I do) do I need to install Boot Magic before I make any changes in size to my partitions?
Half afraid to use this program now after all the issues on finding out how to properly run it.
Thanks in advance, sprank

Well Windows comes with Fdisk which is a partitioner but yes you will need to install bootmagic, backup your data just in case an error occurs then partition your drive...read the help file with the software if you must

You do NOT need to install boot magic to use partition magic when you have only one PRIMARY partition (C:\ is a PRIMARY partition)
hard drive letters D:\,E:\ etc. are LOGICAL
drives inside an EXTENDED partition.
Boot Magic is for individuals who want up to 4 each C:\ drives.
Only one C:\ can be visable at any one time and BOOT MAGIC is the program that can give you a menu at bootup to select which C:\ drive you wish to enter.
Usually if you are into multiple operating systems, you could have 3 Primary Partitions and one EXTENDED PARTITIONS.
No matter which primary partition you are in, your D:\ and E:\ drives, etc. will be in all three operating systems to make it possible to transfer files between op systems.
For you, Use Partition Magic and leave Boot Magic alone until you wish to expand your options.
