no reaction to shutdown / reboot

sometimes my XP doesn't do anything when pressing shudtown or reboot, does someone know why?

See event viewer, task manager. May have to setup a performance monitor. Could be that a program refuses to allow a shutdown. I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Well, thanks sorry, but I can't identify event viewer in task manager (control panel) Neither can I identify a performance monitor. Is it an systernals tool?, a third party tool? How to reveal a process not allowing shutdown???

Trata de cerrar cualquier programa a la fuerza con el Task Manager asta que logres apagar la pc talvez eso te ayude a adivinar cual es el programa/service que no te deja apagar/reiniciar
