Working on a Dell Dimension 2350 that will not power up. I have checked all the obvious areas, plug, reset power strip with no luck. Nothing happens, no fans etc. The only thing that I see that is activated is a small green light on the MOBO that flickers.
Please advise.

Looks liek you have a defective power supply. If your computer will not turn on then its not drawing enough power to turn on. You will probably have to change the power supply

Also dust collects inside computers, and can cause hardware damage.

How PC Power Supplies Work

Look for leaking or bulging capacitors on the motherboard.

Oaky, I'll make a check of the MOBO for the dust/dirt and/or leaking capacitors. In the mean time is there a way to check the power supply, with an OHM/VOLT meter? Any kind of test?

I have used such Meters for about 40 years, but never on a computers Power Supply. If I were to do it, I would disconnet any plugs to devices, and check for voltage.

I think it would be best to use a Meter that has
a very high OHMS/VOLT rating. Like 20,000 ohms/volt or higher.

Also check the cpu fan. A faulty cpu fan will cause that problem.

Nothing I've tried has identified my problem. Is there any simple test to let me know if the power unit is good or bad? A volt meter didn't disclose anything.
