No OS on Startup

Comment:
Computer boots up and says "no os put in an 95 startup disk and press any key" I just pressed any key and my normal startup screen appears. Which gives me the option of using XP or 98. Why do I have the no OS message now on my screen. What change happened to my boot sector on my drive

Try this:
Go to start/Run and type "msconfig", Open "Boot.ini" , highlight 98 if there, click on "check all boot paths" and remove the entry.

Try this, boot into WinXP then go to Start, Run, type msconfig and press enter. Go to the Boot.ini Tab and click check all boot paths.
